A good bit of rest and relaxation.

The past several days have been great.  Since I finished up last Monday with class it has been so much fun to have a little extra time to myself.  On Tuesday I got caught up on housework and was able to have some fun with couponing.  My friend Diana has introduced me to a wonderful site called Southern Savers and it has been so much fun to try and catch some deals.  For example, on Tuesday I went to Publix and only spent $6.40 on over $20 worth of goods.  Gotta love that kind of savings.  I have always been a coupon cutter and have tried to save wherever I can, but this site really makes it simple to maximize savings.  I am looking forward to getting more coupons collected and really having time to invest in saving money over the summer.

I have also had a chance to hang out and relax a lot more which has been much needed.  On Wednesday I got to hang out with Diana and have fun playing cards and chatting.  Then again on Thursday we hung out to watch Grey's at her house.  Good times.  That much fun with friends hasn't been possible over the past semester, but I am hoping that with only one class this summer it will happen more often.

It has also been great to spend more time with Benny.  He has been able to come home and eat dinner with me every day this week and that hasn't happened since Christmas break.  We have truly been blessed with some quality time simply enjoying one another's company.  He has OOD tomorrow which means he has to work a 24hr shift, but thankfully we will get to spend a good amount of time together on Monday since he is on teaching break.  It will be nice to have one more day of R and R with him before jumping into my summer class full speed on Tuesday.

In exciting news, I finally got my student teaching placement in the mail today!  And I am going to be placed at Liberty Hill Academy in a 5th grade classroom.  This is going to be a really neat experience for me since the entire school is made up of students with emotional disabilities.  It is going to be awesome to see the way this environment is set up.  I have been told that it is an incredible school and I expect it to be somewhat of a mix between a partial hospital setting and a school.  They have all kinds of services on hand to meet the needs of the students and the class size is able to be so much smaller and student focused.  I am really excited to see how God is going to use this experience to stretch me a teacher as well as a person.  It is going to be challenging, but I am excited for sure!

I think that is all I have on my mind for now.  I am glad I have picked back up my blogging regularly because I forgot how therapeutic it can be at times.  It's a great way to reduce the racing thoughts that run around my head all day so hopefully there will be more blogs to come in the near future. :-)
